The Wetter the Better: 4 Causes of Vaginal Dryness
4. Menopause
Vaginal dryness can affect any woman, however, chances that you'll experience vaginal dryness increases after menopause. In fact, 1 out of 3 post-menopausal women will experience vaginal dryness. This is due to a drop in estrogen levels, which causes the vagina's tissues to become thinner and less elastic (vaginal atrophy).
Someone may also experience a drop in estrogen levels because of:
- Childbirth
- Breastfeeding
- Thyroid disorders
- Surgical removal of the ovaries
- Anti-estrogen medications used to treat uterine fibroids or endometriosis
- Chemotherapy treatment
3. Lack of Foreplay
Most of the things we enjoy about sex stem from the mind. That's where foreplay comes in to play. Foreplay should never be rushed. Examples of foreplay can be a naughty text, suggestive photo (with consent), & our favorite, cunnilingus.
2. Sjogren's Syndrome
Sjogren's Syndrome is diagnosed by a medical professional. The body's immune system attacks its own healthy cells that produce saliva and tears and make it difficult for the body to produce the natural lubrication that occurs when someone is sexually aroused. The main symptoms are dry mouth and dry eyes.
1. Douching
It's hard to stop doing practices that have been passed down generation to generation but just as we've learned that putting baby powder on our noni's was detrimental to our health, it's time that we left douching in the first half of 2020. Douching with vinegar kills a lot of healthy bacteria and even douching with water can cause bacteria to travel deeper into the pelvic region and possibly lead to pelvic inflammatory disease.
Vaginal dryness doesn't have to be mandatory. Our Magical Pussy Cat pills were perfectly designed to help increase vaginal wetness and libido. The Wetter the Better :)
